The KMPG Story

KMPG was established in 1987 when Peat Marwick International (PMI) and Klynveld Main Goerdeler (KMG), alongside their member organizations, merged. The collective history of these companies dates back to three centuries from this year. "KMPG '' denotes the name of its co-founders. 

"K" denotes Klynveld. In 1917, he founded Klynveld Kraayenhof & Co., an accounting organization based in Amsterdam. "P" denotes Peat. His full name is William Barclay Peat, and in 1870, he established William Barclay Peat & Co, an accounting firm based in London. "M '' denotes Marwick. In 1987, James Marwick partnered with Roger Mitchell to establish Marwick, Mitchell & Co. "G" denotes Goerdeler. For several years, Dr Reinhard Goerdeler was the head of Deutsche Treuhand-Gesellschaft, and he became the first chairman of KMPG. 

Dr Reinhard Goerdeler is known for laying a significant part of the framework for KMG's merger deal. KMPG has expanded its network of member organizations across several continents and currently employs one of the largest workforces in the world. 

Today, KMPG is regarded as one of the Big 4 accounting firms in the world.

Recruitment Process

Their recruitment process for freshers and experienced professionals involves multiple stages. Applications begin online, and then job applicants will undergo online screening. After that, they will participate in a phone interview and a physical interview with 2-3 company executives. 

After completing these interviews, there's a final interview with a KMPG partner. Once this stage is scaled, the job offer comes next. The entire process can take up to a month.

The average annual salary of a fresh graduate and Intern at KMPG ranges from INR 2,00,000 to 6,00,000 yearly.
