Your role

About the role:

They require interns to support the implementation and validation of two prototype algorithms:

• Implementation and benchmarking of a prototype Model Predictive Control function for lateral motion control
• The role involves the development of a prototype MPC controller for lateral vehicle motion control, in Matlab and Targetlink.
• They intend to benchmark the performance of this controller compared to the existing approach. The benchmarking will be performed with a software-in-loop simulation environment and on the test vehicle.
• Implementation and benchmarking of a trajectory planner functions
• The role involves the development of software in Python, and C++ for a trajectory planner prototype, intended for future use in the Mercedes Benz Autonomous driving stack.
• Study academic literature to understand current approaches to the problem
• Develop and validate prototype implementations
• Compare performance across implementations, bring improvements through your ideas

About you

To apply for this position, you must have,

Skills and knowledge:

Profile1:

• Must have good knowledge in C, C++, data structures & design patterns

Profile2:

• Must know about model-based software development using Matlab. Must know C programming
• Understanding of the SW build environment and build process – compilation, linking, etc.
• Exposure to configuration management tools like GIT and requirement management tools, e.g. DOORS
• A good understanding of the AUTOSAR RTE layer is an advantage

Personal capabilities:

• Ability to work in a team environment using agile methods
• Strong logical thinking and analytical skills
• Ability to communicate and discuss ideas effectively - verbally and through presentations
• Deep interest in technology

Qualification:

• BE ECE/EEE/CS or equivalent
