The SAP Story

SAP stands for Systems, Applications, and Products in Data Processing. The company is the world's largest application software maker, with over 300,000 customers in over 120 countries. The company was founded in 1972 by five former IBM employees — Hasso Plattner, Dietmar Hopp, Klaus Tschira, Hans-Werner Hector, and Claus Wellenreuther — who became known as "the fathers of SAP."

The founders were frustrated with the software they were using at IBM and decided to launch their own company. They worked out of an apartment in Mannheim, Germany, where they developed their first product: an accounting program called R/2. That product was later renamed SAP R/3 and became one of the most successful enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems ever created.

Culture and Vibe

SAP has a very strong culture reflected in its products and services. According to their website, they believe in "collaborating with customers, partners, and employees" and " innovating together".

SAP's workplace is very open and collaborative. Employees are encouraged to speak up and share their ideas with others. Many different types of people are working at SAP, from engineers to accountants and even product managers! Everyone works together extremely well, which makes for an amazing workplace environment.

As a piece of advice, I would just like to mention that the students should study hard and be determined to avail an internship of their own choice. Their primary focus during the internship should be on the experience they are about to gain and not on the stipend that they will be receiving.
