Amazon offers a free 12-week cloud computing course to unemployed people

Team Prosple

AWS is providing a free 12-week cloud computing education to anybody interested in pursuing a career in cloud computing.

AWS re/Start has been launched in India by Amazon Web Services (AWS). AWS re/Start is a free skill-development and job-training program that prepares students for jobs in cloud computing. Learners are not needed to have prior technical expertise to participate in the 12-week programme, which is provided at no cost to them.

AWS re/Start addresses this issue by providing free training and mentoring to participants as they begin their cloud computing careers. AWS re/Start is a skills-based training programme that teaches basic AWS Cloud abilities as well as practical job skills like interviewing and resume writing. Students develop Linux, Python, networking, security, and relational database abilities via real-world, scenario-based exercises, laboratories, and coursework. Participants will be prepared for entry-level cloud jobs in operations, site reliability, infrastructure support, and more as part of this program.

"The industry demand for cloud adoption is far outpacing the number of cloud-skilled workers available, leaving organisations struggling to find and hire the talent needed to implement cloud services," said Amit Mehta, Head of AWS Training and Certification – India, Amazon Internet Services Pvt. Ltd (AISPL). He adds that Cloud talent must be developed from non-traditional sources to offset a shortage of supply. AWS re/Start prepares jobless and underemployed people with little or no technical expertise to enter the cloud ecosystem and start a cloud career.

Who is eligible to apply for the AWS Free 12-week Cloud Computing Course?

Those interested in taking the course must fulfil the following requirements:

  • Candidates must be able to attend training full-time, Monday through Friday, for the length of the course, which is usually 12 weeks.
  • After completing the course, they should be able to begin working full-time.
  • Applicants must be interested in pursuing a career in cloud computing.
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required for applicants.

In addition, the program prepares participants for the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification test and covers the cost of the exam, allowing them to verify their cloud abilities with an industry-recognized certificate. AWS re/Start will have cohorts in Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, and Thiruvananthapuram, among other locations in India.

Capgemini is supporting AWS re/Start financially and intends to interview and employ programme alumni for different cloud jobs. Capgemini, an Amazon Web Services partner, will collaborate closely with EduBridge Learning to make this happen. "AWS re/Start fits with that emphasis and shows our commitment to assist new recruits to achieve the future they desire," Pallavi Tyagi, Capgemini's CHRO of India, stated. We think AWS re/Start will be game-changing for more and more Indians seeking to reskill and take advantage of possibilities in a vibrant and growing cloud and technology services employment sector as it grows in the nation."
