The good bits: VMware has a growth-oriented work environment with employee-friendly policies and benefits. The associates and seniors are competent and supportive.

The VMware Story

VMware, Inc. was established on February 10, 1998, in Palo Alto, California, with Diane Greene as the CEO. In 1999, it launched its first software, Workstation 1.0, which could enable users to operate numerous applications on a single computer.

On May 28, 2002, VMware obtained its first patent,  #6397242: System and Method for Virtualizing Computer Systems. By 2003, the company became global and opened its office in Frimley, United Kingdom, Europe. 

The EMC Corporation acquired VMware in January 2004. It established its first office in India, in 2005, in Bangalore. In the same year, it reached 1,000 employees. 

The firm became public on August 14, 2007, on the New York Stock Exchange. Gradually, VMware built software and became globally recognized. In 2015, it announced the biggest deal in the tech world, where Dell Inc. revealed its intent to acquire EMC Corporation with its VMware ownership.

VMware purchased Pivotal and Carbon Black in 2019 to help the corporation assist users in creating, managing, connecting, and protecting any app, on any cloud and device. In 2021, it welcomed Raghu Raghuram as the CEO.
