The Mphasis Story

Mphasis corporation begins as a high-end technology architecting firm in the year 1998 in Santa Monica by Jerry Rao and Jordan Tas. After the merger of a US-based IT consulting company and an Indian IT company, BFL Mpasis was formed.

In 2004 Mphasis acquired Kshema Technologies & Onida Info Tech, 2006 - Acquired Princeton Consulting & Eldorado Computing EDS, in 2008 - HP acquires EDS and Mphasis, 2009 - Mphasis acquired AIG Software Solutions EDS re-branded to become HP Enterprise, 2011 - Mphasis acquires WYDE.

Therefore the company has grown bigger with its clients and on n February 2014, Mphasis changed its logo and the brand name to Mphasis Unleash the Next, seeking to boost business.

Recruitment Process

Mphasis hires Bachelor's and Master's candidates from Engineering streams and master's from Computer Application and Business Management courses for various roles in the organization. They are filtered based on a minimum average academic score of 60% in their course program after which they have to undergo these elimination rounds such as Aptitude tests; Psychometric Tests; Personal Interviews; and Communication tests. Successful candidates are then issued a Letter of Intent. 
The several programs conducted for hiring bright talents for the organization through campus drives like,

  • Campus Tier-1, Tier-2 & Mase Program: Students from multiple streams like CS, IT, and other circuit branches from Tier 1 & 2 Engineering & Technology institutions are hired through this program with Competitive Assessment tests.
  • MASE fresher program: It is an opportunity for fresh technical graduates who could not get an offer on campus during their graduation. This program helps Mphasis to fulfil immediate business needs through a just-in-time hiring model.
  • For other skills such as PEGA, Service now, and Wyde exclusive hiring drives are conducted under these programs.

The Mphasis Summer Internship Program provides an opportunity for the students from TIER-T & TIER-B institutions to learn and contribute, as part of their curriculum, and get exposed to the professional environment in parallel.

Also, Mphasis along with AIF aimed to provide immediate medical supplies such as oxygen concentrators, PPE kits, ventilators, and N95 masks to government hospitals across the regions of Tamil Nadu.

Controversies

Based on the work culture the company is the best place for learning and growing but the salary hikes and appraisals are comparatively low.
