The Microsoft Story

Microsoft was founded by Bill Gates and Paul Allen in 1975, originally operating out of Albuquerque, New Mexico. The company's first product was software for the Altair 8800 computer system. In 1980, Microsoft moved its headquarters to Bellevue, Washington, where it remains today.

In 1986, Microsoft released its first version of Windows and began dominating the PC operating system market with MS-DOS and Windows 95. This was followed by an era of rapid innovation and growth that saw Microsoft become one of the most recognized brands in the world. In 2001, Microsoft launched its Xbox console, quickly becoming one of its most profitable products.

In June 2014, Microsoft announced it would acquire Nokia's devices and services division for $7 billion - marking a significant shift in strategy towards becoming a mobile company at heart rather than just on computers.

Culture and Vibe

One of Microsoft's most prominent cultures is its "competition" culture. This refers to how Microsoft employees often work with other companies to develop new technologies or products and then compete with those companies by using those new products in their businesses.

Recruitment Process

The first step in the Microsoft Recruitment Process is the online application form, which can be accessed from the company's official website. Once you have filled in all your details, you will be asked to take an aptitude test.

The next step will be an HR interview and some senior executives from different departments. This interview will be followed by a long process of assessment which may include personality tests and psychometric tests as well as psychosocial interviews.
Microsoft takes its time to assess your skills and suitability before they make their final decision.

Microsoft offers career opportunities in various fields, including programming, engineering, design, and marketing. Microsoft has many different job openings available in different parts of the world. The company is constantly hiring new people to fill positions in their offices worldwide.

Controversies

In 1998, Microsoft was found guilty of breaking antitrust laws by leveraging its position as the dominant software maker to exclude competitors from the market.
