The Intel Story

Robert Noyce and Gordon Moore are the legends of Silicon Valley who founded Intel Corporation in the year 1968. They were among the eight founders of Fairchild Semiconductor Division in Mountain View, which was established in 1957 as a new integrated electronic circuits company. They spent more than a decade building fair-child into the world's largest producer of Integrated Circuits. Both of them have grown wealthy and started innovating new technology in which Noyce invented integrated circuits as well as Moore with his famous Moore's law, which is a defining principle of technology development. Due to a lack of enough support for research, they resigned and started a company on their own, which is Intel Corp.

Making innovation a core component of their company culture Noyce and Moore had a clear vision for their company. Initially known as N.M Electronics, it was later renamed Intel Corporation.

On August 1, Intel began its first operations in a conference room, which was the only space available at that time in the Union Carbide building on Middle Field Road in Mountain View, California. Their primary focus was on research and development, where they had a passion to develop technology that no one could have ever offered it. Moore described the full facility as "larger than we need". Since then, Intel started to expand its operations, and the company has contributed to some of the greatest innovations of the twentieth century and has always committed to research and development to continue its journey unabatedly.
