The Godrej Story

The story of Godrej begins with India's swadeshi movement. In 1897, Ardeshir Godrej set up a lock company after a few failures. Following the movement, the company started making soap without using animal fat in the year 1918. Anne Besant, Rabindranath Tagore, and Mahatma Gandhi endorsed their products during the movement in 1922. From then on, Godrej started its legacy of developing products every year till 2020. 

Furniture was introduced in 1923, ballot boxes in 1951, Cinthol products in 1952, refrigerators in 1958, hair colour in 1974, real estate in 1990, agriculture in 1991, and mosquito mats in 1994. By 1997, it had celebrated its 100th birthday. In 2003, Jamshyd Godrej was awarded the Padmabhushan for his contribution to India’s industries. In 2005, gourmet retail, In 2007, they developed evolutionary locks, in 2008 India's moon mission, in 2009 planet Godrej, in 2010 good and green, in 2011 Godrej India culture lab, in 2013 pioneering India's clean energy landscape, in 2014 India's mars mission, in 2015 Godrej One, in 2017 Godrej Agrovet, in 2018 pioneering zero-carbon buildings, in 2019 building the world's tallest reactor, and finally in 2020 securing India's borders.

There are several opportunities provided by Godrej, from fresher to experienced. The company conducts campus drives, internship programs for 2 months for first-year MBA students to learn across a business with real-time projects with a preplacement offer depending on performance, and a Management Trainee programme for MBA graduates, which is an opportunity to work on the ground. At Godrej, they recruit separately for Godrej & Boyce and Godrej Industries Limited & Associate Companies.

Remuneration

The average annual salary of a fresh graduate at Godrej is INR 3.4 lakh/annum.
