As a recent starter, I could not recommend Ericsson more highly. Come willing to learn, work hard and innovate.

My first twelve months at Ericsson have been challenging, rewarding and exciting.

In tallying up the responsibilities I have accepted, projects I've been exposed to and independence I've been entrusted with, I find it hard to believe one year is all that has elapsed.

As a graduate fresh out of university I was first assigned to the Network Integration Centre, a team dedicated to configuring, and bringing into service, new mobile infrastructure for Telstra – Australia's largest telecommunications network operator. This position exposed me to the very cutting edge of radio technology, and required a great many skills to execute effectively: liaising with Telstra engineers, understanding complicated network architectures, working with remote teams, and many others. More recently I have helped develop software to automate algorithmically complicated manual tasks, and have developed technical expertise in performing critical software upgrades in Telstra's LTE radio access network.

From day one I have received training and support to further my development as I have accepted new responsibilities and learned new skills. At Ericsson, your colleagues are supportive and encouraging; help is always available. Having said that, it is on you to take advantage of the wonderfully nourishing environment, and prove your mettle: it is the tough challenges and the hard work that bring the largest reward. You can, however, rest assured that your work is valued and recognized.

Having begun on a two year, rotation-style graduate program, I chose to accept a permanent position in my Access and Integration team after only a handful of months. I decided the team, the work and the prospects suited me well, and the flexibility afforded me within the team matched that offered by the graduate program.

As a recent starter, I could not recommend Ericsson more highly. Come willing to learn, work hard and innovate. Come ready to make friends and push your limits in a Global telecommunications power-house!
