I chose to work for Ericsson because of the wide range of different job roles available. This is because Ericsson gives me the opportunity to use both of my backgrounds in my day-to-day work. I've been able to stretch myself in both technical and non-technical roles throughout my time here.
At the moment I'm working as an Integration Engineer in the OSS/BSS team. This entails the preparation and installation of software upgrades across a wide number of different servers as well as the troubleshooting involved in ensuring everything is up and running smoothly for our customers. As part of my role I am also consulted as a technical expert in the upgrade process and need to explain the impact of these upgrades on the customer environment.
I've done a little bit of formal training; however the bulk of my learning has been done on the job. This is possible due to the great team I'm working with. The culture of the team I'm working in encourages me to try new things as well as give me the support I need for my own personal development. One of the major reasons I like working here is the team I'm working in as we all share experiences and challenges together.
