The good bits: Freshers don’t need to invest a lot of time in applying for jobs. Bosch India estimates that anyone can apply ‘in just two minutes.

The not so good bits: There’s a six-month waiting period to reapply for jobs. Bosch India also requires freshers to work for at least 12 months from the date of joining the company.

The Bosch India story

Bosch established its India operations in 1922. The company initially operated through imports and eventually expanded into manufacturing by 1951.

More than seven decades later, Bosch India has grown as the flagship company in the country of the Bosch Group, a German multinational engineering and technology conglomerate. Bosch India has become a leading source of engineering technology and services.

With more than 18 manufacturing sites and seven development and application centers, Bosch India is a core part of the Bosch Group. The parent organization operates in the country through 13 companies.

Culture & vibe

Bosch India balances ‘a thriving and warm culture’ for employees with a customer-centric work environment. The company expects employees to consider how their work will create an impact on customers.

At the same time, the company also invests in talent development. Freshers can learn new things at The Robert Bosch College whether it’s an industry seminar, a management program, or a master’s degree.

While other multinational companies boast of a multicultural environment, Bosch India takes it up a notch—the company sends employees to work abroad. From a look-and-see trip to intercultural training or even language studies, reassigned employees have full-service support.

Bosch India actively looks for candidates who embody this attitude: challenging the status quo while creatively improving current best practices.

Freshers must concentrate on the hiring process because time won’t be on their side after an undesirable result. An unsuccessful application would force them to wait for several months before attempting to join the company again

Recruitment process

Despite being a huge company with an intricate structure, Bosch India simplifies the application process for freshers. The company claims that anyone can apply ‘in just two minutes’ even when using their mobile phones.

Freshers should take note of four steps for the pre-selection process:

  1. Find a job on the company’s search portal

  2. Complete the online application (maximum file size of 10MB)

  3. Wait for a response within 3 weeks

  4. Participate in written tests and interviews

Shortlisted candidates typically pass a written test, technical interview, and HR interview. The written test may consist of 60 questions, which aim to test a person’s aptitude and technical knowledge. Freshers should prepare by reviewing technical subjects related to their degrees.

Once they pass the written tests and technical interviews, some insiders speculate that the HR interview is just a formality. Still, freshers must act as if the interview is the most important part of the process.

Depending on the role, Bosch India may complete the hiring process within one month.
