The ACKO Story

Varun Dua collaborated with Ruchi Deepak and co-founded Acko General Insurance in 2016. They set out to change the face of the general insurance industry in India from a bleak image to a vibrant and vivacious perception by the public. Acko is India’s first digital insurance company with an all-digital model.

The company revolutionized insurance by taking it online and largely wiping out the paperwork associated with insurance. It came up with unique insurance products that give better value to customers. Acko prides itself on making insurance effortless and easy to access for all people.

For a software development engineer in test, the salary is around 12,01,555 rupees per year. In comparison, an assistant manager earns 8,78,851 rupees per year, and an associate director draws a salary of 40,73,342 rupees per year.

Social Contributions

Acko is a generous participant in many social responsibility activities and programs.  The company even has a cricket team as part of its corporate social responsibility program. It also gives assistance to many sports teams as part of its efforts to give back to the community.
In 2022, Acko immensely helped cricket fans in Maharashtra to watch live matches. Acko organized the Fan Arena program where fans got access to a drive-in set up where they could watch live matches between their favorite teams, especially the home team of Maharashtra state.
A spin-off of Acko’s Fan Arena is the Dream Truck that went through Delhi, Lucknow, Kolkata, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad to bring the joys of the Fan Arena to cricket fans in these cities.
